酒器の形や装飾に無限の可能性をもたらすのが、 陶という素材の魅力です。 技術的な部分に注意を払 うだけでなく、作品を作るときは自分のエネルギーに焦点を当てています。 「よりよく生きるということ」。 それが私の作品の中心的な考え方であり、使 う方にも伝わると信じています。
私自身は、日本酒をよく飲みます。形の異なるカップは、お酒の味や香りを様々な側面から引き出してくれます。 シーソーのようにバランスをとりながら、 友人と遊び感覚で大切な時間を過ごします。 《The Perfect Imbalance》 は、 東洋哲学の陰陽思想 から着想を得ています。 具体的には、対立する2つ のエネルギーにより、身体のバランスを適切に調整 するというものです。バランス遊びを通してアイデ アを表現したいと思い、作成しました。
作品は相互作用を促進するため、アンバランスに なるように設計されています。器を置くと、飲み物 や食べ物の重量に応じてカップが上下に傾きます。 この相互作用により、使い手が作品の重さや距離を 調整するように促し、日常生活において大切なバランスを思い出してほしいとの願いを込めまし た。 The charm of pottery as a material is that it brings endless possibilities in how the sake cups can be formed/decorated. I don't just pay attention to the technical part, I focus on my energy when creating my work. “To live better” is the central idea of my works, and I believe it will be conveyed to those who use it. I like to drink Japanese sake. The cups of different shapes bring out different aspects of the taste and aroma of sake. With the seesaw feature, this design is something to enjoy during my ‘me-time’ or with friends, playing and reflecting on balance.
My marbling collection, named The Perfect Imbalance, is inspired by the Eastern philosophical concepts of Yin & Yang - specifically how the two opposing energies coexist by constantly finding balance within each other. I want to express the idea through the play of balance and created this interactive series.
The ceramic pieces are designed to be imbalanced to encourage interactions, and when placing them onto the wooden seesaw platter, the cups will tilt up and down according to the weight of each piece as well as the weight of the food/drink that is being served on them. I hope that this interaction encourages the users to take control and adjust its weight and distance of the work, and remind us of the balance that is important in our daily lives.
